☕ À propos du coffeeshop

Hill Street Blues était, à priori, un coffeeshop à l'époque. Aujourd'hui, vous n'y achetez pas votre weed, mais vous pouvez venir avec la vôtre, vous poser et boire un verre au bar. À l'intérieur, c'est un joyeux bordel qui semble s'être construit couche après couche de souvenirs. Graffitis, stickers, dessins et autres traces de passage recouvrent presque tout, entre grandes tablées et vieux fauteuils où des inconnus finissent facilement par discuter ensemble. La semaine, on peut simplement s'y poser, observer l'eau du canal ou le reflet du soleil dans la pièce enfumée en buvant un cappuccino. Le week-end, c'est autre chose : les groupes se mélangent, les conversations commencent entre deux tables et on peut très facilement y entrer pour boire un verre et ressortir quelques heures plus tard embarqué dans une nouvelle aventure.

C'est tout simplement l'un de mes endroits favoris au monde, raison pour laquelle il se retrouve dans cette série sans même être un coffeeshop.

A postcard from the Amsterdam's Coffeeshops Series, a collection dedicated to the iconic venues that shape the unique culture of the Dutch capital.

☕ About the coffeeshop

Hill Street Blues was apparently a coffeeshop back in the days. Today, you can't buy your weed there, but you can bring your own, sit down and have a drink at the bar.

Inside, it's a joyful mess that seems to have been built up layer after layer of memories. Graffiti, stickers, drawings and all kinds of traces left behind cover almost everything, between big shared tables and old vintage couches where complete strangers easily end up talking to each other.

During the week, you can simply sit there, watch the water on the canal or the sunlight reflecting through the smoky room while drinking a cappuccino. On weekends, it's a different story: groups start mixing, conversations begin between tables, and you can very easily walk in for a drink and walk out a few hours later caught up in a completely new adventure.

It's simply one of my favorite places in the world, which is exactly why it made its way into this series without even being a coffeeshop.
